Designed to last
Because of their small size, standard grass pavers have the drawback that they shift, and because of their large point loads make holes in the foundation. The Deer grass pavers from Cobefa are 125 cm long, 62.5 wide and 12 cm thick, and in addition fully reinforced. The combination of size and reinforcement means that loads are better distributed over the foundation and they shift less quickly. Placement guidelines depend on the load; the permeability and grass opening vary by type.

Various filling options
Decorative gravel, grass, tree bark, .... Depending on the project, you determine the filling and thus the appearance of the grass pavers.
Combination of functionality and aesthetics
Where grass pavers were previously used mainly for practical purposes, Deer harmoniously combines practicality and style. From now on, you can integrate a customized design into every project. A breath of fresh air for every architect.
Reinforced grass pavers
The Deer grass pavers from Cobefa are 125 cm long, 62.5 cm wide, and 12 cm thick, and are fully reinforced. Due to the combination of size and reinforcement, the loads are better distributed over the foundation and shift less quickly.
The soil’s permeability is expressed by the K-value.
Threshold level: 5,4 x 104 m/s (540 litres of water per second per hectare)
We recommend always testing the substrate for water permeability (open-end test or well method).
A I GRASS PAVER
- A1 Grass paver mix (only possible for BC 1 & BC 2)
- A2 Gravel filler
B I UNDERLAYER / PAVING LAYER
- B1 Crushed stone / topsoil mix
- for grass paver mix (for BC 1, BC 2 & BC 3 only)
Add a 5 cm layer of crushed stone/topsoil mix, rake and level.
Raking is necessary to ensure that the grass pavers can bed down properly in the crushed stone/topsoil mix.
- B2 Underlayer (paving layer)
- Water permeability: minimum 5,4 x 104 m/s (10 times higher than the threshold level).
Preferably porphyry 2/6.3. Sand or fine sand/grit mix is not recommended as it gets washed away or disappears into the foundation.
C I FOUNDATION
- The purpose of the foundation is to conduct the water to the sub-base / substrate.
Note: a saturated foundation reduces the load-bearing capacity.

D I SUB-BASE

The sub-base provides additional load-bearing capacity (which is necessary depending on the depth of the load-bearing soil).

In addition, it protects the substrate against frost and provides some buffer capacity, depending on the infiltration capacity of the substrate and the rate of drainage. The thickness of the sub-base is determined on the basis of the above parameters.

The sub-base should preferably consist of natural crushed stone 0/32 with non-continuous distribution OR concrete rubble granulate 4/32 depending on the LA value. No mixed rubble or masonry rubble!

As an architect you choose the grass paver on the basis of the intended style of each unique project. Every client is different, every concept demands a different approach and interpretation. With our range consisting of 4 diverse motifs you can first outline a certain direction, and then vary it again according to your own creativity. With our concrete elements it’s also possible to leave room to incorporate trees or shrubs into the motif, so it can be developed fully à la carte. Your freedom of design is unlimited.
