On the SME zone in Lauwe, where modern architecture and a high quality appearance take centre stage, Tuinen Vantomme deliberately chose to create a company environment that is more than just a functional outdoor space. When building their new warehouse and office, they wanted a site that reflects their identity as green experts while offering an inspiring setting for clients, visitors and employees. The result is a playful, well considered company garden where greenery, paving and circulation flow together seamlessly — with Deer Concrete’s Organic Lily grass pavers as a striking, unifying element.

From standard industrial paving to a unique green concept

“We absolutely didn’t want the typical solution you see on so many business parks,” says Tuinen Vantomme. Their ambition: an outdoor space that feels refreshing, green and future oriented. Greenconcepts was tasked with designing a layout that perfectly balances aesthetics and functionality, and selected Deer Concrete’s Organic Lily grass pavers. The organic shapes, natural look and water permeable properties aligned seamlessly with the envisioned overall design.

Organic lines that guide and connect

Greenconcepts was faced with a challenging puzzle. The various access gates, daily traffic of cars and trucks, and the logical flow of movement all had to be integrated flawlessly. Straight lines would have created limitations, but the organic design offered opportunities.

By combining washed concrete for the main circulation areas with Organic Lily grass pavers in the surrounding zones, a soft transition was created between paving and greenery. “Form that is functional and that allows a lot of nature,” says Greenconcepts. The pavers offer ample open space for lawn and planting, resulting in a biodiverse, layered garden structure.

Sustainable, user friendly and aesthetically strong

The grass pavers have now been in place for a year and a half, intensively used by employees, visitors and vehicles. The grass still grows lush and dense, thanks to the wide openings that give the roots plenty of room.

“All expectations have been met,” confirms Tuinen Vantomme. “The Organic Lily is user friendly, aesthetic and sustainable. The playful pattern creates a unique whole and forms a beautiful match with the organic planting beds.”
Greenconcepts is equally convinced: water permeability, ecological impact and design flexibility are key factors for them — and the Organic Lily excels in all areas. “This is here to stay in our field. Innovative, high quality and sustainable. The daily intensive use in this project proves that it works.”

A company garden that grows with the future

The project in Lauwe shows how a business environment can be much more than infrastructure. It is an example of how architecture, landscape and material choices can strengthen one another. By choosing organic design, biodiversity and water permeable solutions, Tuinen Vantomme and Greenconcepts have created a place that is both functional and future proof.
